app 4 51 beautifies weather localizes language

Tesla’s latest app update, version 4.51, brings several new features to users. The update includes animated weather displays, Hebrew language support, and a new gifting option for the Tesla Shop.

Tesla’s version 4.51 update delivers animated weather displays, Hebrew language support, and new gifting capabilities for the Tesla Shop.

The weather visualization feature shows real-time conditions for Powerwall, Solar, and Wall Connector owners. The display changes based on actual meteorological data and the owner’s location. Visual elements like clouds, rain, sun, and snow appear on screen to match current weather. The app also represents the time of day through lighting effects. As the sun moves across the sky in the visualization, it corresponds to the actual time. The day-night cycle creates changing lighting that gives owners intuitive environmental awareness without showing traditional weather numbers.

Tesla’s expanded language support now includes Hebrew. The full Hebrew localization in version 4.51 enables native speakers to navigate the entire interface in their language. This update represents part of Tesla’s broader effort to make the app accessible to more users worldwide.

The Tesla Shop now features a “Send as a Gift” option. After adding items to their cart, customers can choose to send products as gifts. They’ll need to enter the recipient’s name, email address, and a custom message. Gifts can ship directly to the recipient or to the purchaser for personal gifting. An additional $5 charge applies for gift bag packaging. Recipients receive email notifications with gift details. Tesla plans to add FSD subscription gift cards to the gifting options soon.

Behind the scenes, Tesla improved how the app works. The company implemented Apollo GraphQL for faster data fetching. This reduces delays in sections like Energy graphs and vehicle status screens. The update eliminates unnecessary network calls and improves overall responsiveness. New secure authentication tokens were added for potential future screen-sharing features.

The app also gained a Charge Stats section that tracks charging costs for the past 31 days. It shows breakdowns for home charging, supercharging, and other methods. Users can set custom power utility rates for home charging calculations. Tesla automatically calculates supercharging rates. Moreover, Tesla Insurance policy holders can now add their insurance cards to Apple Wallet. Lock Screen widgets display vehicle battery range for quick access to vehicle information. These enhancements are part of Tesla’s over-the-air updates that continuously improve vehicle and app functionality.
