Tesla’s 2025 Model 3 comes in three different versions with prices starting at $42,490. The company offers a standard range model with rear-wheel drive, a dual-motor long range version with all-wheel drive, and a high-performance variant. Each model targets different buyers with varying range and power needs.
The EPA says the rear-wheel-drive Long Range model can travel 363 miles on a single charge. The all-wheel-drive version gets 346 miles. These numbers fall far short of any 516-mile claim. With standard 18-inch wheels, the rear-wheel-drive model might reach 344 miles, according to testing data. The EPA also rated the car’s efficiency at 137 MPGe combined, with city driving at 145 MPGe and highway at 128 MPGe. Driving at 55-65 mph on flat terrain typically maximizes efficiency and helps achieve the best possible range.
EPA testing shows the Model 3 Long Range achieves 363 miles per charge, not the rumored 516 miles.
All Model 3 versions use a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack with 79.7 kWh capacity. The car includes an 11.5 kW onboard charger and can handle DC fast-charging up to 250 kW. At home with a 240V outlet, the battery takes about 11.7 hours to fully charge. Tesla equipped the vehicle with a NACS fast-charge port for charging station compatibility.
Performance varies by model. The standard range version reaches 60 mph in 5.8 seconds with 295 horsepower. The dual-motor long range model cuts that time to 4.2 seconds. The Performance version delivers 460 horsepower and accelerates to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. All models use a single-speed automatic transmission.
The Model 3 measures 185.8 inches long, 72.8 inches wide, and 56.7 inches tall. It rides on a 113.2-inch wheelbase. Weight ranges from 3,817 to 3,891 pounds depending on the configuration. The sedan seats five passengers and offers 24.1 cubic feet of cargo space between front and rear storage areas. Front passengers enjoy 42.7 inches of leg room, while rear seat occupants get 34.5 inches. The interior features a minimalist design with nearly all controls managed through the central touchscreen.
Tesla builds the Model 3 in the United States. The EPA classifies it as a midsize car and gives it a perfect 10.0 Greenhouse Gas Score. The vehicle comes with a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty. Buyers may qualify for EV tax credits up to $9,350 based on income. Tesla estimates monthly electricity costs at $63 for typical driving.
