Tesla’s rolling out major interior upgrades across its vehicle lineup, featuring new display technology, enhanced comfort features, and improved passenger controls. The company’s latest updates focus on voice command integration that could revolutionize how drivers interact with their vehicles.
The centerpiece of Tesla’s interior refresh is an upgraded 15.4-inch front touchscreen powered by an AMD Ryzen processor. This faster chip delivers smoother operation and reduced lag times. Tesla’s also added an 8-inch rear screen that lets passengers control climate settings, stream media, and play games. Both screens now feature built-in apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify.
Voice command integration represents the most significant change. Drivers can now control Autopilot features and routing through spoken commands, reducing the need to touch the screen while driving. The system works with Tesla’s over-the-air updates, meaning it’ll get smarter over time. The upgraded microphones are positioned strategically throughout the cabin to improve phone call clarity and voice recognition accuracy.
The interior upgrades extend beyond technology. Tesla’s introduced multicolor ambient lighting that stretches from the dashboard to door panels. Passengers can customize colors through the settings menu. The lighting even adjusts automatically based on time of day or cabin conditions. Tesla’s addressed a common complaint about cabin noise. New dual-paned windows and acoustic glass reduce road noise by up to 26%. Redesigned door seals and trim materials minimize rattling and vibrations. The treated glass also filters UV rays and helps regulate cabin temperature.
Rear passengers benefit from dedicated USB-C ports, improved storage compartments, and strategically placed cupholders and power outlets. The rear screen gives them independent access to streaming apps like Apple Music and Hulu.
