Tesla’s opened its second showroom in India at Worldmark 3 in Aerocity, New Delhi, marking another step in the electric car maker‘s expansion into the country. The new location will open on August 11, 2025, just weeks after the company launched its first Indian showroom in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex on July 15, 2025.
Tesla expands in India with Delhi showroom opening August 11, 2025, following Mumbai’s July launch.
The Aerocity showroom sits in an upscale commercial area near Delhi’s IGI Airport. It’s surrounded by luxury hotels, offices, and retail stores. This location will serve customers in the National Capital Region, including Delhi, Gurugram, and nearby areas.
Tesla’s currently selling two versions of the Model Y in India. The standard rear-wheel drive model costs ₹59.89 lakh, while the long-range rear-wheel drive version costs ₹67.89 lakh. Both prices don’t include taxes and registration fees. The company’s importing these vehicles as completely built units from other countries. The standard Model Y offers a 500 km range on a full charge, while the long-range version can travel up to 622 km. The RWD version comes with either a 60 kWh or 75 kWh battery pack option.
Customers can register their vehicles in any state through Tesla’s India website. However, the company’s prioritizing deliveries to Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurugram. The standard Model Y deliveries will begin in the third quarter of 2025, followed by the long-range version in the fourth quarter. Tesla will deliver vehicles directly to customers’ locations using flat-bed trucks.
The company’s also building charging infrastructure across India. It plans to install 16 superchargers in the Delhi area, including locations in Aerocity, Saket, Golf Course Road, and Noida. Mumbai already has its first supercharger at One BKC, with four DC V4 chargers and four AC destination chargers. Three more charging stations will open in Thane, Lower Parel, and Navi Mumbai by September 2025.
Tesla’s offering a self-driving feature for an additional ₹6 lakh, though it’ll be available later. The company hasn’t announced plans for local assembly in India yet.
The Aerocity showroom’s luxury location targets wealthy buyers and corporate customers. As India pushes for more electric vehicle adoption, Tesla’s expansion could help educate consumers about EVs while making them more accessible to those who can afford the high prices.
